| LJMU was founded in 1823, and has over 25,000 students and almost 3,000 staff. It has a turnover of over £130 million and runs over 200 undergraduate and 80 postgraduate courses on several sites, spread over three main campuses. Two campuses are located in the centre of Liverpool, and the third is at I.M. Marsh in South Liverpool. LJMU is one of the largest educational institutions in the UK, and is based in some of the most prestigious buildings in Liverpool. The University reflects a true diversity of culture in its people, its approach and in its academic curriculum. LJMU’s revenue expenditure makes it one of the largest businesses on Merseyside, and it has played a leading role in the urban regeneration of the City of Liverpool. |

Statement |
| LJMU is an enterprising university committed to meeting the needs of business and in an increasingly competitive environment, organisations can take advantage of its totally unique offerings, which cover training, knowledge transfer and business support. The University’s Business Development Team provides a comprehensive link between the business community and LJMU’s wealth of expertise and resources. It acts as the first point of contact, so whether a business requires a research and development project, consultancy services or a student placement, they are encouraged to contact this team in the first instance so as to be quickly connected to the right people. The University has its roots in the applied academic world, but by their very nature courses are predominantly vocational and are delivered by academics with extensive industrial and commercial experience. LJMU has particular expertise in the areas of engineering design and manufacture, sports science, business management, ICT, astrophysics, pharmacy and chemistry to name but a few, and has formed links with a range of organisations including everything from small local businesses to large national and multinational companies. LJMU, in association with professionaliverpool, is committed to the continued development and regeneration of the region and encourages the formation of collaborative opportunities with all businesses that are interested in innovation and further development.
